Making Room for Your Delivery
We want to make sure that before receiving your new furniture and cabinetry, you have enough space for delivery. There’s nothing worse than ordering the perfect piece of furniture only to discover it won’t fit through your entrance!
Measure the height and width of all gates, entryways, stairways, hallways, and elevators along the delivery route to make sure your furniture can fit.
Check the Corner Clearance by measuring the distance from the room’s doorway to the wall, allowing enough space for the furniture to navigate around tight corners.
Be aware of potential obstacles such as low ceilings, tight corners, hanging light fixtures, decorative moldings, and other architectural features that could obstruct your path.
Ensure that entrances are wide enough to accommodate the depth of your furniture. Additionally, both corner and entry clearances should be able to fit the furniture’s diagonal depth.
Follow these Steps to Measure your Entrance to Avoid Surprises
Width: Measure the width of your doorway or entrance. This includes any door frames or trim. Measure from the inside edge of one side to the inside edge of the opposite side.
Height: Measure the height from the floor to the top of the door frame or trim. Make sure to account for any uneven flooring.
Depth: Measure the depth of the entrance. This is the distance from the front of the door to the back of the entrance area. Consider any obstructions, such as radiators or furniture, that might affect the available space.
Angle: If your entrance has a narrow hallway or tight corners, measure the angle of these areas. This will help you determine if larger furniture pieces can be maneuvered through.
Remember to add a few extra inches to your measurements to allow for clearance and ease of movement during delivery. Happy furniture shopping! 🛋️📏
